Vincent van Gogh (Dutch, 1853-1890): Fountain in the Garden of Hospital, 1928. Limited edition (from a set of 40) gravure. Unsigned, Professionally framed and matted. Printed by Otto Wacker-Verlag in Berlin, 1923. This item is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Lisa Moran Fine Arts.
Fountain in the Garden of Hospital, is about a corner of St Paul's Hospital at St Remy. In a letter from Theo to Van Gogh, he said: "I think there is more atmosphere in these last works, more distance than in the preceding ones. Perhaps this is due to your not laying on your paint so thickly everywhere. In one of the rolls there was a superb pen drawing representing a fountain in a garden; next Sunday I am going to meet Lauzet, who will admire them very much - I am sure of that."

Vincent van Gogh was a Post-Impressionist painter who is among the most famous and influential figures in the history of Western art. In just over a decade he created about 2,100 artworks, including around 860 oil paintings, most of them in the last two years of his life. They include landscapes and still lifes.

14.5 x 12.25 inches framed; 5.25 x 6 inches plate.

Collection of a California Gentleman.
