Sam Francis was a second-generation abstract expressionist who, with artists like Helen Frankenthaler and Joan Mitchell, experimented with the expressive use of color. While in Paris, his work became associated with the Tachisme, the French equivalent to abstract expressionism.

27 x 17.5 inches frame; 21.5 x 11.75 inches board.

Condition

Excellent condition with the exception of a few areas showing craquelure.
