Robert Bauer (Austria/ America, 1892-1957): Woodland Idyl. Oil on canvas, signed and dated (1941) lower left. Signed again with title verso. The photo of the artist is not included with this lot.
Robert Bauer was a commercial artist with a concentration in landscapes and portraits. He ran Bauer Art Service in New York. He work was used in a poster to promote the buying of US war bonds for WWII. It was also used to raise money for the China Emergency Relief Committee in 1941.

30 x 35 inches framed; 25x30 inches canvas.

Good condition, minor surface grime, no damage of note. The frame is in poor condition but stable.
