Paul Gauguin (1848-1903) was a French Post-Impressionist artist known for his innovative and influential contributions to the world of art. Gauguin initially pursued a successful career as a stockbroker but ultimately devoted himself entirely to painting. He is renowned for his vibrant use of color, bold experimentation with form, and exploration of non-Western cultures, particularly his time spent in Tahiti. Gauguin's artistic vision, marked by his search for spiritual and emotional expression, laid the groundwork for the Symbolist and Primitivist movements and continues to inspire artists to this day.
