Mildred C. Jones was born in Scranton, PA in 1899. She studied at Philadelphia and at Paris Academies under Henri Royer. After her marriage, she lived in London, New York, and Cambridge and summered in Rockport, MA. She specialized in children's portraits and studied under Maurice Compris. She was a long-time member of the Rockport Art Association (RAA). In later years she maintained a residence in Rockport and wintered in Mexico and the Virgin Islands. She died in 1992.
