African Tribal Art: Mask with Beard, Baule People, Ivory Coast. Carved wood, Mid 20th Century. The mask features and elaborate coiffure, scarification marks and an open mouth with pursed lips. The beard is wrapped in coils. Overall, the mask has a fine patina with pigmented details including the eyelids, ears and teeth.
