Lee Krasner, Attributed (American, 1908-1984): July 4th (Abstract Nude Composition). Oil on canvas, signed in pencil and dedicated to Aaron verso, unframed.

Lenore "Lee" Krasner was an American abstract expressionist painter, with a strong specialty in collage. She was married to Jackson Pollock. Although there was much cross-pollination between their two styles, the relationship somewhat overshadowed her contribution for some time.

25 x 18 inches canvas.

John MacWhinnie, New York, USA; North Carolina Estate, USA.

Condition

Very good condition overall; scattered craquelure throughout; canvas is slightly loose on stretcher; canvas loss/ holes at the edge of all four corners; pinhole areas of paint loss in upper left quadrant; small area of chalky residue in the same zone; small area of retouching apparent upper left quadrant; taking around edges is new, replacing old staples.
