Hugh Micklem (British, 1918 - 2009): Portrait of Franny, 1952. Oil on canvas, signed and dated below, framed.

Born in Hendon Middlesex, Micklem studied at the Central School Of Arts and Crafts under Bernard Meninsky, then at Westminster School Of Art under Mark Gertler and Emslie Owen. He is represented in a number of public art collections such as the Government Art Collection and Buckinghamshire County Council.

29.5 x 25.5 inches framed; 24 x 20 inches canvas.

Good condition, uneven varnish; surface grime; minor retouches; frame rub around edges.
