Gertrude Abercrombie (American, 1909-1977) attributed: Woman with Blue Whale oil on masonite panel, signed and dated '47, framed. Known as the Queen of the Bohemian Artists, Gertrude Abercrombie was a staple of the Chicago jazz scene. Abercrombie is best remembered for her, self admittedly, simple but a little strange surrealist compositions in a controlled color palette.
