Frida Kahlo (Mexican 1907-1954) Attributed: Sketch of Diego. Graphite on toned wove paper signed under sketch. Hinge remnants to reverse from previous framing and a margin repair to paper at lower right corner. Unframed.

Frida Kahlo was a Mexican painter best known for her uncompromising and brilliantly colored self-portraits that deal with such themes as identity, the human body, and death. Although she denied the connection, she is often identified as a Surrealist. In addition to her work, Kahlo was known for her tumultuous relationship with muralist Diego Rivera.

Aged condition: Paper has been torn and repaired in lower right corner losses along the edges. Darkening discoloration of paper towards the edges slight ripples on left side.
