Fernand Leger (French, 1881-1955) Attributed: Abstract Forms, 1943. Watercolor on cardboard, signed and dated lower right, verso is stamped "Forestal Collection" Nice (France). Unframed. This drawing is accompanied by a document declaring the transfer of ownership in a 2004 sale.

Joseph Fernand Henri Leger was a French painter, sculptor, and filmmaker. In his early works he created a personal form of cubism which he gradually modified into a more figurative, populist style, featuring primary colors and bold forms.

6.75 x 11 inches cardboard.

Provenance as reported by the previous owner: Grazzian Gallery, Antibes Juan les Pins, France; Michel Meyer, Tarnow Poland; 2004; Private collection, Los Angelas, USA; Private Estate, North Carolina, USA.

Condition

Very good condition; edges are slightly ragged, more so the bottom edge; corners are rounded; upper left corner missing; scattered very light surface scratches.
