Fairfield Porter (American, 1907 - 1975) Attributed: Winter Creek. Watercolor on heavy paper, signed in pencil lower right, mounted to archival mat board, unframed.

Fairfield Porter was born in Winnetka, Illinois. A realistic artist, he is best known for his landscapes and sunlit views of interiors, although he also did portraits and still lifes. His work is often described as modernized American impressionist.

Great condition; light foxing marks throughout; two inch tear lower right; paper has a slight undulation.
