Edgar Degas (French, 1834-1917): La Toilette. Very rare limited edition gravure print. Printed by Ambrose Vollard in 1914, issued by Bernheim Jeune in 1918, from an edition of 275. Signed in plate.

Edgar Degas was a prominent impressionist painter best known for his depictions of dancers. Initially trained as an academic history painter, Degas soon found inspiration in modern life and became known as the classical painter of modern life.

15 x 11 inches with margins; 9.75 x 7 inches plate.

Collection of the Lightweis family, Munich/ New York 1918-1999; Passed by decent, private collection, New Orleans; acquired in a private sale 2005, collection of a California Gentleman.
