Edgar Degas (French, 1834-1917): Femme se Peignant. Very rare limited edition original gravure print, signed in plate, unframed. Printed by Ambrose Vollard in 1914, issued by Bernheim Jeune in 1918, from an edition of 275. This print is accompanied by a document issued by Lisa Moran Fine Art

Edgar Degas was a prominent impressionist painter best known for his depictions of dancers. Initially trained as an academic history painter, Degas soon found inspiration in modern life and became known as the classical painter of modern life.

15 x 11 inches paper; 8.25 x 7 inches plate.

Collection of the Lightweis family, Munich/ New York 1918-1999; Passed by decent, private collection, New Orleans; acquired in a private sale 2005, North Carolina Estate, USA.

Condition

Great condition with light grime around the edges of the paper; paper is toned evenly.
