This plate begins to the series of Reptiles, studied by Etienne Geoffroy St Hilaire (1772-1844), a French zoologist which participated to the Campaign of Egypt of Napoleon I, as specialist of invertebrates. The plate is hand colored. Engraved by Bouquet.

35 x 27 inches framed; 23.5 x 16.5 inches plate.

Condition

Very good condition considering age, the paper is ripped throughout; minimal toning; significant crease in the center of the page; surface paper loss upper left. This item has not been examined outside of its frame.
