Alfred Sisley (French, 1839 - 1899): Printemps Apres la Pluie. Very rare limited edition gravure print. Printed by Chevallier and Bernheim Jeune 1902. Over 120 years old. This item is accompanied by a document from Lisa Moran Fine Arts. Unsigned, unframed.

Alfred Sisley was a French Impressionist painter who joined the studio of Charles Gleyre, which Monet, Renoir and Frederic Bazille also attended. When Gleyre's studio closed in 1863, Sisley went on to paint with Monet, Renoir and Bazille. His first paintings reflect the Barbizon school traditions but with independent style. Sisley's paintings were accepted for the Salons of 1866, 1868, 1870 and he was a member of the Societe Nationale des Beaux-Arts.

6.25 x 6 inches paper; 4.25 x 5 inches plate.

L.M.F.A; acquired in a private sale 2005 to the present owner, a Gentleman from California.

Great condition with light foxing marks in the upper right quadrent.
