After Rembrandt van Rijn (Dutch, 1606-1669): The Artist's Mother Seated at a Table Looking Right ca. 1950's. Etching on paper, signed in plate, unframed. Verso is stamped, Faksimile Reproduktion der Staatsdruckerei Berlin from the German Federal Printing Office. Because the "Reichsdrucke" were good-quality reproductions, fraudsters would remove the stamp and attempt to pass them off as originals.
Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn was a Dutch draughtsman, painter, and printmaker. An innovative and prolific master in three media, he is generally considered one of the greatest visual artists in the history of art and the most important in Dutch art history.
