For Gottlieb the burst symbolized the dichotomy between uniformity and chaos. His oeuvre crescendoed with the Burst series which he began in 1957 and continued to expand upon until his death in 1974.

Condition

Good condition with the exception of a small indentation, in the upper left, where something was pressed against the canvas resulting in a small crack and paint loss.
